Default Sauls discoveries...

Could someone help me find a way to protect the villagers at the start? I've tried using just bombs+wards+the aoe sig but the villagers just run right up and get raped. Sometimes they just sit back and dont aggro at all though, so is this just a discovery of luck? One time after I killed all the charr there I looked for villager corpses with alt and none were shown. But then I died on the next group (trying to clear all the camps) and I didn't get the discovery T.T Do I need to complete the book to get the discovery point? ty

Mkk I went through again and did a head count XD All of the villagers were safe so that just leaves my other question. Do I need to complete the book b4 I get the point? Or are there more villagers to save somewhere?

You have to complete the whole thing to finish the discoveries.

Yay, you were right. Man, after getting the fifth camp marked off my knuckles were white for the rest of the fight....it would've sucked soooo badly if I would've died at the last part after going through all that.

The charr are easy...target the boss/beast and the AoE signets and ally splash damage will kill everything else around. This quest is pretty darn easy IMO...

I still cannot keep them all alive. Can you describe in detail what you did to keep them from running up and getting raped?

Do the villagers react to the flag? If so, plant it where you want them at the start to stop them running all over the place.

I got this one almost by accident. Just ran between the villagers and the charr right away, so they settled on saul and his party. Got killed a couple of times in the process, wasting a whole 2 minutes of my life. But eventually it worked.

I didn't notice the droppable bombs and such until after >_<

Good luck.
One problem. You don't have to keep the guys on your Ally list alive, only the villagers. I had many of the Allies die several times, but still got the bonus.

Are you shure the Villagers on your ally list did die? There is a difference. The mursaat can die and I think that so can allso some of the known characters (the persons we see later in game). It's the named villagers, the ones saying goodbye to their families you have too keep alive. I am very shure of this because I tested it. You get a message as soon as a villager die (sayihng something about ...if saul could have saved all the villagers...) and at one point I got that messages when one of my allies died long after we left the village (as part of the test. I just dident take any chanses when I was donne testing so I kept them all alive (except the mursaat). I did not test if some of the more known allies could die. I'll do that tomorow. My guess is that the 3 guys waiting by the gate at the start can die, they are not saying good bye to any families

There are bonus for the mission? don't think there are any bonus in these mission.

how ever i did the Saul's mission again, and the way to stop the charr from killing the villagers is to run towards the stunt and barbs bombs cast number six for the healing and number 8 to call everyone to your side, reducing damage done to you, because if you die, its over, if one of the other shorties dies they will be ressurected, keep picking up and dropping the bombs they die after 3-4 bombs drops. I completed the first part with one dead villager.
